Wanna be Sicilian: Palermo Cooking Class & Market Tour

Half market tour, half hands-on cooking class: shop for seasonal ingredients at Mercato del Capo with a chef, then cook and eat your own three-course Sicilian lunch over five relaxed hours.
What you'll do
The morning starts in the Capo market, where a chef walks you through the stalls and helps you choose the day's ingredients. Back at the cooking school you make a full Sicilian meal from scratch — arancine al ragu, home-made pasta alla Norma and fresh cannoli — then sit down to eat everything you have cooked, family-style, with local wine and Marsala.
You leave with a recipe booklet, a graduation certificate and the confidence to recreate the dishes at home. Hotel pick-up and gratuities are included, and the group runs up to twenty.
Who it's for
Best for families, groups and couples who want to do more than taste — to learn the techniques behind Palermo's food and enjoy a long, sociable lunch. Vegetarians can be accommodated with notice; the class is not suitable for coeliacs.

What travellers say
We made arancini, pasta alla Norma with fresh pasta and cannoli, and enjoyed it with a glass or two of wine. I learnt real techniques and do's and don'ts of Sicilian cooking.

Tara · United States · May 2026A fun start to our day in Palermo. Marcello led us through the Capo market and the food we made at the end was so good we were all completely full.
